The Miniaturist, Historical Drama Set in 17th Century

 The Miniaturist,  is a historical drama set in 17th Century. It was produced by BBC and directed by Guillem Morales and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Romola Garai and Alex Hassell.   In America, it aired in three parts from 9–27 September 2018 on PBS's Masterpiece.



Plot:

In 1686, 18-year-old Nella Oortman (Anya Taylor-Joy, Emma, The Witch) arrives in Amsterdam to meet her wealthy merchant husband Johannes Brandt (Alex Hassell, Genius: Picasso), but is instead met by his sister Marin (Romola Garai, Churchill’s Secret, The Hour). When Johannes appears, he presents her with a wedding gift: a cabinet that is a miniature replica of their home, to be furnished by an elusive Miniaturist, whose tiny creations mirror what is happening within the house in unexpected ways and seem to be predicting and unraveling the future with unsettling precision.

As Nella begins to uncover its secrets and those of the Brandt household she realizes the escalating dangers that await them all. Does the Miniaturist hold their fate in her hands? And will she be the key to their salvation or the architect of their downfall?

I am Dragon

 I am Dragon is one of the most remarkable dragon fantasy movie out there.  It's a Russian low-cost production, but let that not turn you away.  It pleasantly surprised me and millions of other fans.   The cinematics were beautiful, even if there was CGI involved in parts (like when the dragon is flying) and the story combines both legend, ancient people, and their rituals as well as a bit of a fairy tale element. It has a "Beauty and the Beast" feel to it, but both richer and deeper as a story. Edward Cullin, eat your heart out because this story put out any flames the "Twilight" Saga may have sparked in my opinion. And if a girl can fall in love with a vampire and a werewolf, well... let's just say this movie is intensely more romantic without all the poor acting and long drawn out multi-movie requirement.
